F2i SGR entered an agreement with Cogipower S.p.A. to acquire photovoltaic parks for a total 56.4 MW capacity. The transaction is scheduled to close by the end of June. The acquisition of Cogipower's plants will strengthen F2i's leadership in the renewable energy sector, a business with still highly fragmented ownership and which requires a consolidation process able to improve its overall efficiency by increasing the production scale.

F2i, FSI, Vodafone and Wind signed a letter of intent to create a national fibre infrastructure through Metroweb. The project is open to other operators and investors who share the goal of building a national fibre infrastructure according to the guidelines and conditions identified in the Ultra Wide Band plan approved by the Government.

The Shareholders’ Assembly of F2i SGR SpA – Fondi italiani per le infrastrutture appointed Bernardo Bini Smaghi as Chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors. During the course of the Shareholders’ Assembly – which also approved the financial statement for the SGR for the year ended 31 December 2014 – the Managing Director Renato Ravanelli informed the shareholders of the positive performance of both the Funds under management and discussed the transactions that were concluded recently.

F2i progresses its expansion strategy in the field of energy generation from renewable sources. An agreement was signed yesterday with E.ON for the acquisition of 100% of E.ON Climate and Renewables Italia Solar S.r.l., a company that owns 7 photovoltaic plants with 49 MW installed capacity.

Following a process carried out over the last months to select a partner and support its investment strategy in the airport industry, F2i has chosen a consortium formed by Ardian (60%) and Crédit Agricole Assurances (40%). The consortium will acquire 49% of F2i Aeroporti S.p.A.
