A consortium of investors led by F2i completed today the acquisition of 37.3% of KOS from Ardian for € 240 million. KOS is one of the main players in the Italian long term care sector. As of today, KOS share capital is held by KOS (62.7%) and by F2i Healthcare (37.3%). Mr Carlo Michelini, Director General and Head of the Investment Team of F2i, was appointed Chairman of KOS SpA.
Regarding the leaks that have appeared in the press relating to Metroweb, Renato Ravanelli, F2i CEO, states: “F2i hasn’t received neither an offer for the acquisition of the absolute majority of Metroweb nor for the entrance in the capital of the company. If in the next days some proposals should arise, F2i management and BoD would evaluate them, considering the best interest for the investors of the Fund and of Metroweb, which is the player that is able to immediately guarantee, thanks to its expertise and managed fiber optic network, the acceleration to the infrastructural development needed by the Country”.
CIR-Compagnie Industriali Riunite S.p.A. and F2i have reached an agreement with Ardian to buy from the latter for € 292 million 46.7% of KOS, the company of the CIR group that is one of the main operators in Italy in the healthcare and residential care-home sector.
F2i CEO, Mr. Renato Ravanelli, has expressed “Great satisfaction for the investment made by F2i in 2012”. “Our investment”, Ravanelli continued, “supported the completion of an essential infrastructure for the territory of Turin and, eventually, achieved the return objectives of the Fund”. F2i sold today F2i Ambiente S.p.A to IREN. The Company owned 51% of TRM V S.p.A.
F2i and Enel Green Power signed an agreement to create an equal joint venture in the Italian photovoltaic segment with an initial 210MW capacity portfolio. The initial portfolio may increase in the future - also through new acquisitions - in order to create a leading operator at national market level. Through this transaction, F2i confirmed its supporting role in the dimensional growth of the italian companies operating in the infrastructure and energy sectors.
